![]() Freighters grant the ability to construct a base within them, which allows for many economic advantages such as mobile farming and internal storage units. Players may now own freighters of many shapes and sizes.įreighters are large luxury trade spacecraft with a cost to match. Friends can join a player on their freighter and travel with them. Players can gain a freighter for free and create a fleet of Frigates. The NEXT update added Command Freighters and the ability to play with friends to the game. Starting with update 1.1, players became able to own their own freighters at a large cost. Pirates may also be seen spawning near freighters, triggering a distress call event. Freighters are sometimes armed with their own defensive turrets and preparation prior to attacking should be taken. These ships are usually accompanied by smaller fighters. Players can attack freighters to steal resources away that are stored on the ship. The S class is the highest one of the four. The faction's cruiser Crab, and their Capital Ship Jormungandr, are considered living ships. It is unknown if this is an intentional choice on the developer's part or if it is a minor error to be patched in a future update. The Swarm's ships are an odd exception with half of them not considered living ships despite their biological appearance. Living ships are primarily used by the Jurgans, the Taraniak, and the Contagion factions. The player can also add cloning modules to them to provide a swarming strategy. Living Ships cannot mount Repair Bots, but they can still use Repair Rays. ![]() This makes attrition warfare against these ships ill-advised. The living trait gives all living ships a small amount of passive regeneration, exactly 1% of their health points per second. Living ships are a category of ships which possess the living trait. ![]()
